In Romsdalen we have well known landmarks as Trollstigen, the Trollwall, Romsdalshorn, Innfjorden, and Norway's most beautiful railway "Rauma Railway". The nature is wild and beautiful, and great for active people. The Troll Wall is part of the mountain range Trolltindene (the Troll Peaks) in Romsdal valley, near Åndalsnes and Molde, at the Norwegian west coast. The Troll Wall is the tallest vertical rock face in Europe, 1100 meters from the base to the summit at its tallest. At its steepest point, the summit overhangs the base by nearly 50 meters. The rock is gneiss, and its large formations are shaping a broken face of huge corners, concave roofs, and crack systems, topped with a unique series of spires and pinnacles parading the summit rim. The rock is generally loose, and rock fall is the norm in this immense north facing, big wall. A series of huge rock falls swiped the wall in autumn 1998, radically changing the character of several climbing routes. The Troll Wall has been a prestigious goal for climbers and BASE jumpers alike. In 1984 Carl Boenish, the "father" of BASE jumping, was killed on the Troll Wall, shortly after setting the world record for the highest BASE jump in history. BASE jumping from Troll Wall has been illegal since 1986. BASE tourism is a growing part of the destinations, not only for active jumpers, but also for tourists who come to watch the "flying humans". Mountain flying is spectacular, and easy to watch, as the infrastructure make it possible to get close to the jumpers arena. Latest news from Romsdalen, is that the "60 minutes" crew came for a visit. This is great publicity for Norway and Romsdalen. "60 minutes" have 20 million viewers. See more information about "60 minutes" at the information page.

Experience needed for jumping in Romsdalen?
Experience needed for jumping in Romsdalen? Romsdalen is for those with great big wall experience. Good tracking skills, and wingsuit experience is an absolute must, and our requirements for safe jumping. The best place to learn is Kjerag, and then come to Romsdalen. Both Romsdalen and Lauterbrunnen have problems with jumpers with low experience level, and do not respect the freedom of legal base jumping. Please enjoy the freedom with respect, and do your job.

Legal?
Base jumping is legal in Norway, but illegal from the Troll wall . This is due to potentially complicated rescues and danger for the rescue team. Please respect the Troll Wall, and if you decide to jump make sure you know where to jump, and have the skills to make a safe jump there. We do not recommend jumping in the no fly zone at all! (see attached picture at BLiNC Magazine). Police decide if this area is safe or not for a rescue operation, and this can easily be changed to other sites if there is too many difficult and dangerous rescues at other sites as well. The fine for a jump in troll wall is 20 000 NOK + all jump related equipment confiscated, camera included!

Be fit!
Be fit for long hikes, and have proper clothing for mountain hiking. Prepare for spending the night outdoors. More on information page with link to Blinc Magazine BASE forum.

World BASE Race
This is the ultimate challenge human beings can face in a high speed adrenalin sport. Head to head flying a 750 meters horisontal raceline, where a perfect human flight, will make one the only one, who can call himselves or herselves "The world fastest flying human being". Using nothing else than gravity, a body dressed in a batman suit, and perform the perfect aerodynamic shape. Hans Holmefjord made one jump with a gps last year, which showed maximum speed 234 km/h.
